Privacy and Cookies Policy of the Vidicon Group Companies

This document provides information on the processing of personal data in connection with the use of the websites of the Vidicon Group Companies (hereinafter: the “Vidicon Group Websites”), which comprise: Vidicon Sp. z o.o. and Vidicon‑Investments Sp. z o.o., with their registered office at 7–9 Generała Józefa Bema Street, 50‑265 Wrocław, Poland, as well as on the use of cookies by the Vidicon Group Websites.

We respect your right to privacy. We protect personal data and to this end, we apply appropriate organisational and technical measures to prevent interference with the privacy of Users of the Vidicon Group Websites by third parties. Our actions are aimed at ensuring a level of security for Users of the Vidicon Group Websites that is consistent with applicable law, including:

  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR);
  • The Polish Personal Data Protection Act of 10 May 2018;
  • The Polish Act of 18 July 2002 on the Provision of Electronic Services;
  • The Polish Telecommunications Law of 16 July 2004.

Use of the Websites is carried out via a secure SSL protocol.

Please note that the Vidicon Group Websites may contain external links enabling Users to directly access other websites, or cookies from other entities (particularly providers such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) may be placed on your device while using the Vidicon Group Websites in order to allow you to use functionalities integrated with those services. Each such provider defines the rules for their use of cookies in their own privacy policy, and thus we have no influence over the privacy policies or cookie usage of those third parties.

For security reasons, before using resources offered by other websites or services, we recommend that each User read the privacy and cookies policy for those sites, if provided. If no policy is available, contact the administrator of the site or service for information.


Glossary of Terms

  • Cookie – a small piece of information saved by the server on the User’s computer, which the server can read upon reconnecting from that computer.
  • System log – information transmitted by the User’s computer to the server during each connection; may include various data (e.g. IP address) from which, to a greater or lesser degree, the origin of the connection may be determined.
  • IP address – an individual number generally assigned to a computer connected to the Internet; an IP address may be permanently assigned to a given computer (static) or assigned for a given connection (dynamic).
  • SSL protocol – a standard for secure data transmission over the Internet, in which the transmission is encrypted, as opposed to regular transmission where data is sent in plain text.
  • Personal data – information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“data subject”); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, online identifier, or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural, or social identity of that natural person.
  • Processing of personal data – any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.
  • Controller – a natural or legal person, public authority, agency, or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.
  • Joint Controllers – two or more Controllers who jointly determine the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.

Controller and Joint Controllers

The Controllers of your personal data are the Vidicon Group Companies, which include Vidicon Sp. z o.o. and Vidicon‑Investments Sp. z o.o., represented by the President of the Management Board, with their registered office at 7–9 Generała Józefa Bema Street, 50‑265 Wrocław, Poland (hereinafter: “Controller”).
Joint Controllers – Companies within the Vidicon Group, each acting as an independent Controller, which have concluded an arrangement to determine the allocation of obligations arising under GDPR.


Data Collection in the Vidicon Group Websites

In the course of a User’s use of the Websites, we store HTTP requests sent to the server. Resources viewed are identified through URL addresses and include:

  • public IP address of the end device from which the request was made;
  • User’s station name – identification carried out by the HTTP protocol, where possible;
  • username provided during the authorisation process;
  • time of the request;
  • first line of the HTTP request;
  • HTTP response code;
  • amount of data transmitted by the server;
  • URL of the previously visited page – where the transition to the Website was made via an external link;
  • information about the User’s browser;
  • information on any errors that occurred during the execution of HTTP transactions.

The above data is not associated with specific individuals browsing the Websites. The Websites do not automatically collect any information except for that contained in cookies. Such automatically collected data may be used for:

  • managing the Websites;
  • enabling the use of services available on our site;
  • detecting potential security threats;
  • ensuring the security of our site and preventing fraud;
  • verifying compliance with the terms of use of the Websites.

Personal Data Processing in the Vidicon Websites

Personal data collected through forms, for which the User has given consent, is processed for the period and purpose necessary to properly handle the relevant task. Disclosure of Personal Data

We may disclose your personal data:

  • to the extent required by law;
  • in connection with potential legal proceedings;
  • in order to establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights (including disclosing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention);
  • to the extent necessary for conducting business activities and providing services.

Personal Data Security

We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational security measures to prevent the loss, misuse, or alteration of your personal data. We store personal data on secure servers.


Transmission of Information over the Internet

Users acknowledge that the transmission of information over the Internet is inherently insecure; however, the Vidicon Group makes every effort to secure such transmissions, including by using secure data transmission systems that significantly increase the protection of data in the Internet.


Use of Cookies

The Vidicon Group Websites use cookies – small text files stored on the User’s device. Cookies usually contain the name of the originating website, the duration of storage on the end device, and a unique number. This information is not in any way linked to the personal data of Website Users and is not used to identify Users.
The scope of information automatically collected depends on the User’s browser settings. Users should check their browser settings to learn what information is automatically shared or to change those settings. Assistance for changing cookie preferences is provided in the “Help” section of the User’s browser.
Changing cookie storage or receipt conditions is possible through browser settings (links to popular browsers may be added here: Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari).

By default, most browsers allow cookies to be stored on Users’ devices. Users of the Websites may change these settings at any time.
